Born and raised in Columbia, MO, Dr. Nivens graduated from Rock Bridge High School in 2001. He spent the next eight years in Kansas City completing his undergraduate work in Biochemistry at William Jewell College and then dental school at UMKC, graduating cum laude. In 2009, Dr. Nivens and his wife moved back to Columbia to start their family and career. He worked for five years at the public health clinic in Columbia. Dr. Nivens feels his time at Family Health Center of Boone County was absolutely necessary in his dental path. It has made him the clinician he is today and allowed him to take care of the community that he grew up in. He is part of the Central Missouri Dental Society, Missouri Dental Association, and American Dental Association, and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he enjoys attending Mizzou sporting events, playing golf, or building furniture. It is Dr. Nivens’ goal to start participating/leading dental mission trips with his team in the near future both stateside and abroad.
