Dr. David King was born in Provo, Utah, but moved to rural Montana, Twin Falls, Idaho, and eventually Liberty, Missouri, where he completed his education and developed a passion for trumpet performance. After graduating from Liberty High School in 1996, he attended Central Missouri State University to study music before shifting focus to biology and chemistry.
While taking a detour from his academic pursuits to serve a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Taiwan, he began to develop as an individual. This experience was transformative: he learned Mandarin, developed a deep appreciation for Taiwanese culture, and embraced the values of hard work and service. The mission profoundly impacted his personal growth and commitment to helping others.
Upon returning to the U.S., Dr. King resumed his studies at Central Missouri State University, completing his undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry before earning his D.D.S. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. During this time, he met and married his better half, Mikel-Ann Harper. They are the proud parents of five children: Halle, Ruth-Ann, Campbell, Oliver, and Elle.
His dental career in Liberty and Independence, Missouri, where he managed two practices: King Family Dental Care and Independence Family Dental Care, for nearly seven years. After selling these practices to a local dental group, he joined a national group, which relocated him and his family to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 2013. They enjoyed the unique culture and climate of the Southwest but decided to return to Missouri in 2017, settling in the St. Louis area.
Today, the King Family owns a flower farm, which provides ample opportunities for adventures. They enjoy life on their property with their chickens, dogs, and cats. They are actively involved in their church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where they value community service and family engagement.
Dr. King is motivated by a desire to uplift and improve the lives of others. His motto, “Saving the world, one smile at a time,” captures his commitment to enhancing patients’ smiles and well-being.
